Rover 3.9 EFI 14 CUX VSS at TPS at fault

Hi,

Over a period of weeks i have completely overhauled my ignition circuit & injectors & fuel pump & regulator.

Everything has been running very well, cured the flat spot at speed, today, i was cruising around 120 - 130 kmh, the speedo dropped, to zero for a second, then back up, then down again. Starts to run very rough, soon cleared itself, if i left off the gas, a couple of times it felt like it was on cruise control no engine braking.

But, i now have a strange lag, i can drop it into drive, and it will slowly move on idle, apply the accelerator, the rev's start to climb, watching the speedo nothing really happens, then 10km/h / 1500 - 2000rpm its off, like its just found itself.

My question would this be the TPS or the VSS.

idle control no problems at all, MAF has been checked with a good one, still the same issue / fault, no visible leaks around the plenum chamber

Am i correct in thinking if you disconnect the battery that will clear all 14 CUX faults?
