I am now in the process of planing my cooling system for my Rover V8 and I thought you more experience guys may be able to help me. I have drawn this sketch of the system and I was wondering if some of could 'join the dots up for me'. Also any Tees would be great. What about a swirl pot?
I have already posted this on the other forum I look on but as this is a V8 specialist forum I thought it would be more appropiate.
On the Diagram J and K are Transmission oil coolers.

Hi
C to H
L to G
I to B (I presume that is your expansion tank)
A to a piece of pipe into a beer tin (empty)
E or f to your heater, D to the other side
and the one of E or F you didn't use to a T piece at G.
I would put oil through J and K, water would not be good.
I think that is right, someone will be along soon to mark my answers!
Best regards
Mike

depends what the cap is like whether it is I-B, The cap might just be designed to blow off to reduce pressure in which case linking it to B wont work. I would link B to somewhere on the L-G hose. I would also link A to the highest point in the C-H pipe or a point in the inlet manifold if it has one. The point of that connection is to bleed air out so it needs to link to somewhere high.

Is the 'tank' an expansion tank or header tank?
The difference being an expansion tank can be at any height, but a header tank must be level with the highest level of the water (generally radiator top)
If I assume a header tank:
C-H with T-piece to take in A
D-E
F via heater matrix to connection point not shown on rear of inlet manifold. Or blank off F.
G-L with T-piece to take in B
I to a vertical piece of pipe sticking out the bottom of the car.
You need to make sure the rad cap is the right type. I don't know what they are called (the two types), but you want the type for a header tank system rather than an expansion tank system. Having said that, I think you are safe this way around if you have the wrong type, it's if you have an expansion tank system you must have the right type of cap....
