Radiator Swap Dumb question

Hi Please excuse my ignorance, but this is all new to me,

The rad on my LR90 with RRC V8 on carbs (Zeniths) is bust.

New one turns up and has 2 small stubs on it. 1 obviously goes to the expansion tank and I'm told the other one goes to the inlet manifold ?

My old rad has one outlet to the expansion tank, and the other hole is capped with a bolt. Obviously I can't muller the new one,so can I put some sort of Y piece in and feed both to the expansion tank or can someone tell me where the other hose goes.

Cheers

Hello
on the inlet manifold somewhere should be a corresponding boss or pipe that in an ideal world would connect the highest point of the warter passages in the inlet manifold to this stub on your radiator. It's sole purpose is to allow air to escape from the inlet manifold water passages so if you aren't going to connect it to the manifold just block it off at the rad.
Best regards
Mike

Aaah. Thanks for that. Would it per chance be the stub which is blocked off with a piece of hose in the picture ?

Yes that will be the fella, having that pipe connected makes clearing air out the system much easier.

Before you connect it all up, get hold of a drill bit that fits inside the stub on the manifold and clean it out by hand so you don't graunch anything, because they quite often get clogged up with gunk....

Cheers. I'll check that too. I took the stub off it last night and it was wet.
