Weight of just the block?

Hi,

Does anyone know the approximate weight of the engine minus cylinder heads, sump, timing cover, etc., ie., just the block, pistons & crank?

I need to sort out some transportation issues and the weight is key factor.

Many thanks!
Hugh

it is 80kgs - I have weighed one in. Block weighs 50lb, crank 80lbs.

I had no engine hoist so had to manhandle it out of my SD1.

Could'nt straighten up for three days.

I measure my 5.2litre block (4.6l casting), only block + bearing shels + bolts, only 30kg.
5.2litre forged crank, 24kg.
pistons and H-beam rods 1,6 or 1,8kg dont remember. But 8x 1,8kg = 14kg

So total is 68Kg..

4.6litre cast crank weight is 20kg and pistons + rods are 200g/1 lighter than my 5.2litre. 1,6kg i think or lighter?
So total weight is approx 62.4kg
