I am putting back together my 1989 3.9 engine and the Haynes manual mentions using a special lubricant to use on the no. 5 main cap bolts.Could anyone tell me what this is?Also I am putting a Piper 270 cam in and wonder if the standard valve springs will be OK.Thanks Nick.

Lightly lube the threads with paraffin, that's all thats needed, with a touch of hylomar sealant at the point where the bottom of the cruciform seal meets the block.
Personally, I'd fit std rate springs but wound with one less coil (Real Steel sell them) to be sure of no spring binding.
