ok i know it sounds weird.

would it be easy enough to convert my rear strut suspention to run leaf springs instead????????

just a thought i have had kicking around for a while and was wondering if it was possible on a mercedes 190e???

And I thought I was wierd running carbs instead of injection...!

Depends how much fabricating you want to do, i.e. beefing up the mounts etc but anything is possible.

not scared of a little fabrication....

i am a welder by trade and i just love the look of leaf springs.....

i would like to give my merc the old muscle car look.... if you know what i mean!!!

If its the look you want then fair enough, you would obviously be better with IRS for handling- not sure what the 190's have double wishbones or struts? If you need an axle then you could 4 link it..?

Don't see why not with enough fabrication / cutting. Depends how far you want to go!

Probably far less effort to buy a leafsprung car and fix it up really nicely to your spec than to mod a car that has been designed for multilink suspenders.
It goes far beyond the fitting of mounts and beefing up around the mount areas. These cars have load paths designed into the body to accommodate the multilink and you may well compromise the structural integrity of the vehicle by changing those paths to redirect spring forces into different areas.

i now too think it will be a better idea to buy a leaf spring car after i have converted the merc to run a v8.
