Diff Mounting & donut!

I have a cossy 7.5" LSD, also got the subframe out the back of the mazda on sunday to sort out the diff mounts and drive shafts- question is does the diff need to be mounted on rubbers or will it be ok bolted up solid?

Also does anyone know if the sierra/granny cossy's used a rubber donut thing in the prop to reduce the kick when shifting? Don't really want to use one as I have seen 'not that powerful' cars tear them to bits in a couple of miles doing light rallying but also dont want to murder my diff as it's now going to be seeing the arse end of a manual box infront of it instead of an auto!
