Finaly have the engine in the stag ( 4ltr griff breathing through twin plenum). The dyno went up to 248bhp 280lbs torque at 4700 and the engine dies.
The flapper is at full scale deflection so am presuming the system gets to this point and then gives up.
Looking at the graph i am presuming the engine through the right system will develope about 260 to 270.
So now i need to fit the hot wire system ( griff pre cat) that came with the engine this is where i need to pick some brains.
1. the harness came with no lambda sensors is there a mod to run an engine without these in by fitting a resistor
2. the ecu is a 14cux with mounting plate for the map chip. the chip has no identification to it other then a red flash of paint in one corner is this a standard tvr chip
3. i aim to keep the tp system. what is the best afm to use. at present it is 3am
4. the cables to join the loom i have
orange/green 4mm cable
white/purple 2mm cable
brown/orange 1mm cable
purple/yellow 1mmcable
yellow 1mm cable
orange/black 1mm cable
black.yellow 1mm cable
And a black and white that i presume is the coil conection

Any advice will be most appreciated.

I cant help you with much of this but I am a little confused anyway. If this is the system that came with the engine then it should be good to run as is, you shouldn't need to add resistors because of non cat. Either way yes its controlled by a tune resistor. Cant remember the colour but there are many threads with it if you want to search.
Stick with the airflow meter you have for the hotwire, it will save you hassle and non compatibility. At the power your puting out the TP isnt adding anything but looks anyway.
I don't know what base your using but if it is the original TP injectors, they don't work with the hotwire system because they are the wrong resistance. You will have to modify the TP inlet to take modern injectors or mate the TP plenum to a hotwire inlet. V8 Kid went the route of joining the two together so search his threads.
On another note did you know you can use a Jag flapper meter to extend the range of the flapper system? Not sure which one but look up the user Demo as he has done it if I remember right. Thats on a 5.0 TVR engine so it seems to work.

I am going to use the hotwire system and do as V8 kid has done. I have been asured by the jason who supplied it all to me the chip is a mark adams and there was no lambda sesnors fitted. So all thats left for me to do is open up the trumpet base to match the tp.

My 4.3 TVR using 14cux, 20AM Air meter, 45mm trumpets, carbon plenum and Mark Adams chip and setup by Mark himself only had 214rwhp (265FWhp) which he advised was about right

TVR quote 240bhp for a 4.0 and 275 for the HC 4.0 so depending on what engine you have it may not be that far out.

Might be worth a call to Mark and see if he setup the engine up before or was it just bought from the like of RPI and never setup to the engine.
