Just been to Burtons Car Disposal, and noticed they had two LDV 200 series in stock. At least one of them has a 2WD R380 'box. These boxes have a short remote. So all you need is the right bellhousing and you're away!

Ah, maybe. I've never heard of an R150! My LDV200 had an R380, albeit connected to the Perkins 2.0L diesel. I assumed they kept the same transmission when they swapped the engine.
I must investigate this one further - to see what the difference is between an R150 and an R380.

ldv called it the R5-150 ..i knew is was something like that
they fitted it to the 1.9 diesel sherpa's it has small spigot tip like the LT77 but the gears and bearings front and rear are differant
the main ratios are very similar to the LT77 but the primary ratio is differant , and also the front bearing has a larger diameter and the rear has a very strange size ID to OD ..not listed inany bearing shops , it;s totally unique to this gearbox
the other type with a smilar case is the one fitted to petrol sherpas i think so don't quote me and and fitted with the series typ round bell housing it also has the larger dia spigot tip , that the one it started with on my v8 with the adaptor ring
the R5-150 box will fit straight onto a SD1 type bell housing and there will work fine on the V8 but you will have a very low ratio box
i'm using a TR7 box at the moment , a 17A i belive , and a spare here just in case
