Keith,
I'm no expert on gearboxes but wouldn't have thought there would be much pressure and the pump just makes sure there is lubricant getting where it's supposed to be.
Which gearbox do you have, as the one in my car had a larger main shaft and oil pump, so may have been a police spec one, don't know the number offhand. I had it rebuily but it still has a slightly baulky 1st to 2nd change until its warmed up.
You thinking of going up to Santa Pod for the Forum day in July?

Hi Kevin , ui have had yet another gearbox oil pump let go and destroy the first motion bearing ..
i got another to tide me over and now i have redone mine i have got it back on here to sell
i have put new pumps in both and new seals too
i was just wondering if i could keep an eye on oil pressure from the pump to catch it early so if it goes again i can stop before any more damage is done ..
who built your box kevin ? , are they very good on LT77's and advice ??
hopefully i'll be at santa pod yes that will be nice to see your car run

Keith,
The guy I used used to do work at home but worked for another transmission firm, I think he used to get the parts very very cheap!
I believe he has his own company now and is somewhere in the Brockley area SE London but have no contact details for him.
