I shift the auto manually on the strip. She makes max torque at 4000rpm. I lose 500rpm per shift. So I upshift at 4300rpm to drop back just under max torque for the next gear. I run out of steam at 1000 feet as in 3rd gear she is crossing the line at 5200rpm at 117mph. I've just fitted 26" diameter rear tyres to replace the 24" ones I have been using. I was out today at the Pod but it got rained off at 3pm so I didnt get to do any test runs. So I cant do any more testing for 3 months now. Bummer!!

Very nice Perry! What nitrous shot are you running now with that?

Due to some electrical issues with my controls, I was running a 150hp shot fixed hit just after leaving the line. Hence the sudden surge just after launch.
I'v also done 4 passes with a 200 fixed hit and she has been fine, albeit a little hard to keep in shape. So I know that when i re do my electrics over the Winter, she will be coming out in 2009 with a 200 shot as the starting point for the years testing. And by next March she will have the nitrous system modified so she should be able to easily flow up to 400 of gas. So after a mild 2008 with only one rebuilt, 2009 might be another busy year for seeing what breaks with even more gas and seeing what I can do to overcome it without spending out on uprated parts.

Perry,
That sounds exiciting, does that mean you will be getting over 400BHP on gas, should get you well into the 10's if you can maintain traction.
Pain in the proverbial with the winter shut down, but looks like an exciting 2009 season for you, Looking forward to seeing you run at the July club day. You could also shed a bit of weight, car not you

how about a fibreglass tailgate and swap the glass side and rear windows with the lightweight stuff, that should remove a couple of hundred pounds, whats that worth in the 1/4.
If you would like a gearing spreadsheet program I have one which I can possibly e-mail you, it allows you to input your gear an final drive ratios and your tyre size.
If you'd like it let me have your e-mail address so I can try and attach it.
Regards,
Kevin.

Perry,
What width are the tyres and is the gearing spredsheet program mentioned above of interest?
