Hi there can anybody here shed any light on the above engine ? as i have been offered 1 that at the moment is an feul injected engine. I have been told that i can by a new inlet manifold that will take a holly is that correct ? and what sort of power does the motor make? and are the parts easily avalable here in the Uk ?

not read any recent build ups on the 360, but from what I remember it is big bore short ish stroke configuration and quite tunable. The RT is the truck version so will have a short duration cam and long inlet runners probably won't get more than 250 bhp in that form, cam change and decent tube headers and a better inlet then it should be the far side of 325 bhp. Usual story of how far do you want to go, but 425+ on the road should not be out of the question.
As for bits it is not a common engine over here, however Ebay and the fact that many US parts companies have realised that there is a world out there means getting bits from the states is very easy. I have imported every part for my chevy build apart from the crank turning nut, it is a doddle. summit northwest autoparts, comp cams, isky race parts,CNC motorsport all deal direct and are very helpfull, Ebay if you want to just shop.

It is a modern version of AMC360 engine. The junior member of the same family (AMC318) is very popular in the US, lots of Dodge "Magnum" v8 and v8 Jeep Grand Cherokees have this engine (minor differences - truck and Jeep versions have starter on different sides). Many parts fit both 5.2 and 5.9. The earlier versions were carbureted, later versions have EFI. It should be pretty easy to find intake manifold for the carbureted version in the US.

Thanks for your replys guys you are right in saying it a truck engine as this is out of a 1998 dakota that had just 3000 miles on it when it was written off so should be in very good shape and not requiring a rebuild and the BIG plus is it is very cheap. One more question is how does this motor fair in size compared with say a 350 sbc and ford 302 ?

Should be about the same size as an SBC and 302, certainly won't be like a ford cleavland, and won't have the height of a hemi it is fitted to equivilant vehicles as the small block Ford and Chevy.
To be honest if it is 3000 miles old and going cheep, unless you are going for a really tight installation it would win points for novelty.
