hiya all,

So with my new clutch came a new release bearing....hmmm metal flat type bearing clipped on to a composite plastic type carrier.

My orginial one, a metal round faced bearing on a metal carrier, standard SD1 type.

Question is...which one is gonna be best....Do i use the new plastic type or leave my old one in.

Anyone else used the plastic type in their engines and got any feedback.

Gonna be putting this thing in my 4.6 engine, so just need to be sure it will last or not melt.

My mind says stick with the old one...as its metal...

cheers

hello all,

Anyone know if fitting a round nose bearing with a radius edge clutch cover will do any damage.

As you are supposed to fit a flat nose bearing with these clutch covers.

But i need to make the bearing shorter to increase clearance.

So will need to fit the metal carrier, but the flat bearings dont fit one these carriers.

cheers
