Hey.

Yeah I know TVR do one already

Just wondering if any of our members have built one themselves :-)

Seen some good stroker kits (at a price) to go 4.8 but 5 litre is my target

Cheers

Yeah it can be done, no problem. If you havent already got an engine to start with then it might ultimatly be easier, quicker and even possibly cheaper in the long run to buy a long block from someonelike v8 developements. They go up to 5.5! they also use good parts in their build-ups. see the thread on stroker kits for more info that might help. Also a browse through the old forum database (at the top of the index page) will likely throw up more good advice, this subject has been touched upon on numerous occasions here on the forum.

Cheers HairbearTE

I have 2 x 3.5 blocks and currently a 3.9 in my sd1.

Quite happy with the power from the 3.9 and the mods I have done. Pretty much as far as you can go without forced induction.

But as one project finishes you get the rush of another and while I have these 2 blocks laying about I can take my time getting one bored out and ordering new internals. I have read up a lot on the stroker kits and while that road would be far easier for my 3.9 , i like to o things the hard way haha

Will skim through the old forum and have a wee read

cheers

beats me Desertrover!! i have only 2 engines in my clio right now. A 2 litre renault 4-pot in the front and a rover v8 rolling around in the boot!, just havent got around to unloading it for a while. I gotta move that thing, its p**sed up the handling something chronic..

HairBear, you will have to get rid of the Clio and replace it with a TR7 as spare RV8s fit much better - straight into the spare tyre wheel - they don't roll around at all! :P
