Have a look here for a breakdown on what the part No.s mean:
http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/ngkjpg.htm
It is unclear though as to why some plugs have different part No.s written on them but seem to be the same type?
I have a selection of B6RES, BP6RES and BP6RE NGK plugs with the part No.s written in differing colours: green, blue & black. Very confusing but it may be down to nothing more than changes in branding.

Dont get too worked up about it...if they look the same, and fit the same....and say 8 on them.....fire away.
I'd be choosing the resistor plugs though.

Before I realised that they were widely available on the internet. I bought my first set two years ago from a well known UK performance parts supplier @ £6.50 each!!
They were listed as Rover V8 Racing / Nitrous spark plugs.
