Mallory HyFire VI

Hi guys,
I´m fitting a Hyfire to my LR engine.
Do you think it´s a problem to position the unit in the cab ( between the frontseats at the cubbybox ) or are the cables to long then?
It´s aprox. 1.5 meters to rout the cables from the cubby box to the ignition coil/Dizzy. The cables to the battery need to be just 30 cm long.

I've fitted my Hy-fire VI in the boot of my MGB. And I've extended the cables to suit. It works just fine for me.

Just remember that when extending leads from this unit that it is important to uprate the cable diameter to the next size up. The longer the length of cable the greater the voltage drop.
The Hyfire VI will run even with 10 volts but you want to minimise the length of cable where possible but if it needs to be long then get those cables uprated.
Use quality cable connectors or better still solder them and use heatshrink.
Ensure that any firewall penetrations are properly sealed and absolutely make sure that there is no risk of chafing the wires in any of the cable runs.
Sorry if that's a bit "suck eggs" but it's important. Crappy cable connections go a long way to spurious signals and false triggering.
Split the signal wires from such lines as tacho to help reduce "noise" as this is a sensitive unit and will false trigger if the environment where the cables are ran is noisy - electrically.
