Hi,Hope someone can help, has anyone fitted a front cover supplied by V8 Tuner,i believe it is from a buick 215,appears identitcal apart from the oil pump drive which is early 'female' type slot and 120mm long against SD1 type which is 100mm long.I am a bit concerned about what dizzy to use

Cannot simply fit SD1 drive as pump chamber approx 3mm deeper. Is the depth of a pre SD1 dizzy shorter than that of the SD1?Therefore does not exstend into front cover as far. Please be gentle as this is my first post!
May i also wish you all a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

There are, at a very basic level, two types of front cover. Pre- and post SD1.
Pre-SD1 has female distributor drive, short oil pump gears - sounds like what you have.
Far superior, and the only choice if you're haveing to buy one anyway, is post SD1 with male pump spindle/wobble distributor drive and better/deeper/higher flow oil pump.

Hi Russ, thanks for reply, the cover i have actually has a deeper oil pump chamber than a SD1,i believe its from a Buick version of the Rover V8,it has one or two suttle difference externally but all bolt holes line up on my 4.6.Inside the cover where there is a support bush for pump shaft on a SD1 this does not have one.If i can work out how to post pics will do later Farther Xmas duties allowing
