Mothballing a block

Right, I've bought another block for the test building, as suggested.

Any advice on mothballing the "good" block for a few months? Wrap it in anything special, oil it, etc. etc.?

Hopefully it won't be in too long, but we all know the reality about these things ;)

I will be buying another car (or two) before I start on the "proper" build, plus the missus wants innumerable holidays... it seems to be about one a month at the moment... hopefully her holiday entitlement will dry up soon and I can get on with spending money again :D

All of this means that, while I hope to be building something at the end of the summer or so, it'll probably be well into the winter before anything actually gets started

So it's worth me getting the block ready to take residence in the garage for some months to come...

grease up the bores and keep it off the floor, that's about it really. I use a spray on wax protector type stuff but grease will do just fine.

as above but also blow out the water passages with an airline if it is not already dry completely and wrap it in clingfilm.
