Hi all, not sure if this is the right section for this but....

need starter motor advice, the rv8 i have is from a mid 70's range rover judgeing by the engine number, so what starter do i need for a 2wd auto box?
or can the range rover transfer bo be removed making a 2wd box?

if not a sd1 or p6 box is the one then.

is there a four speed 2wd auto available?


sorry for all the questions as the rv8 and all the bits that go with it are all new to me....

All the starters are interchangeable as far as the block & engaging with the flywheel are concerned.

The 4x4 ones have the solenoid on the side (to clear the propshaft), and the 2WD ones have the solenoid on the bottom. I think!

Anyway, I have a 4x4 one on my 2WD auto (ZF) engine & box.

you want the SD1 drop solenoid starter this will be the most compact solution for you.
