Height Difference

Been thinking about my project, I have my engine with edelbrock manifold and holley carb when I trial fit the front end I have clearance problems as I expected.
Can anyone tell me the height difference from a carb engine and an injection.
Better let you know I have a Rover V8, was told it was a 3.9 but engine number says its a 3.5

I cant tell you in size am afraid but I can tell you the injection is taller than a carb setup can be. A carbed engine in a Sierra has plenty room but on injection (same car same engine and mounts) the bonnet just cleared.

These 4 barrel throttle bodies can be lower than the standard carb
Add a low bonnet and pipe to a cone filter and you might save some space.

Thanks,
I have a look in to the 4 barrel throttle bodies.
Looks like I may stick with my original plan either chrome filter out the bonnet or some sort of intake or bump.

Are you talking about clearance for the filter, if so you can get a Mr.Gasket low rider filter which has a drop base of I think 1.5" and comes standard with a 2" height filter, this can be a little resrictive and if you have room a 2,5" deep filter would be better.
A good trick for checking filter to bonnet clearance is to get some plasticine or Bluetack and make some little cones to stick on top of the filter lid then close the bonnet gently and the amount of squashed Bluetack will tell you how much clearance you have.
