was thinking about setting up another part of the forum called technical,
where bits like how to set tappet preload with pics etc can be posted for reference only etc,
what does every one think about that?
can have torque settings in there too etc,

Maybe call it "Tech Archive" or something? Be good to have a little library of "stuff", sort of place not filled with questions & posts etc if that makes sense...

Tone,
might be better to seperate it into two sections, RV8 and other, for us poor boys that don't have a Rover.
Then we don't have to sort thru your RV8 stuff and you don't have to sort thru ours!

it would be split into rover chevy ford etc,

I think it would be better as web pages and not as a thread on the forum. At the very least if it is in a thread the threads need to be locked otherwise it will just get full of crap like the other tech info threads.

the only way we could do this is to have all the ideas etc sent to one local enail addy, i could set up tech at v-8.org.uk for this

yes there are loads of free ones out there including mediawiki which is what wikipedia is built on. TBH I dont know that much about them as in how secure or how much you can tie them down but when done right its a good way to get information.
