Hi,
Has anybody got any suggestions for air filters for an MGB V8 standard inlet? I don't like the metal box at the back and pancake filters won't fit!
Cheers Adam

Whats wrong with the crab claws?
My advise is to ditch the whole lot and get a webber 1404 on an offenhauser 360 manifold.
You'll get most of the cost of the conversion back from selling the MG carbs and inlet system on ebay.

You can get a K&N kit for the factory MGB V8 set up I think Adam.
But as JC says, if you fit the Weber kit, you will no doubt get your money back, or more if you sell the original induction set up on ebay.
Depends how much originality you want to retain really.

Hello chaps,
Thanks for your comments, funny you should mention it but, I have just bought the MGB V8 inlet, trousers and carbs for my conversion on ebay!
But I haven’t got the crab claws, so I am in need of some air filters that fit. Without spending a fortune!
I will have a look for the K&N kit.
Thanks for your help,
Adam

Pipercross make a filter specifically to fit the MGB V8. You remove the air inlet box and attach direct to the front of the carbs.

Keep watching eBay for crab claws.
They come up all the time. The K+N system bolts onto the big airbox either side in place of the crab claws.
To that end, why not just get some cheap cone filters for the airbox until some claws come along.
Alternaivly, put the lot back on eBay and get a webber. The Original MG style system is a real compromise.
