Fuel pressure regulator query

Just fitted my bigger injectors and got everything bolted back together. Now I have to figure out what to do with the fuel pressure regulator. I have removed the original Hotwire one, and have a nice remote adjustable fuel pressure regulator with a gauge.

Problem is, how to fit it? Can you get adapters for a take off at the end of the fuel rail??

I also seemed to have slightly bent one of the mountings on the fuel rail for the original regulator, so I'm worried i may need a new one!

I made up an adaptor...bit rough though.

Got a -6 bulkhead fitting turned down, and grooved to acccept an o-ring for it to seal inside the fuel rail.
Then made a flat bar to secure it.

Leaves you with a -6 fitting on the end of the rail.

Or you could just weld a -6 fitting onto the fuel rail. Might just be handier.

Although the factory FPR would work in a boosted application too.

cheers stevie. Looks like I'll need a new fuel rail then lol!

using push on fittings so will have to find some other adapter and get that sorted.

other than that, what about a custom fuel rail? I've seen the blank ones on demon theives for £33 plus VAT, and i know they need drilling, but i'm not sure how the injectors are fitted. I guess bungs will need welding on?

I dont understand....why would you need a new fuel rail ?

Adapting it isnt that difficult. I know my hotwire one was just made of steel ? so welding it wont be a problem.

You can sort of see what I did here.

I think I actually have this old rail lying about some where. I'll have a nosey later.

cheers mate. I actually found an adapter lying in the box of bits Gav sent me - still have to bodge a mount for it though lol!

Did 'final' assembly on the engine yesterday - fitted the exhaust manifolds/turbos/rockers and a few other bits. Getting there!
