hotwire co adjustment

hiya all,
trying to adjust the co using a meter on a hotwire v8.
meter saying about 5-8%
But adjusting the hex screw in the airflow meter makes no difference to the co
the volts from the co trim wires is reading about 1v, as the book says it should.
Fitted a new coolant sensor also made no difference.
what else could cause this high co%

hiya
just re-checked the resistor this morning and its giving the right readings for a no-cat car.
Got the co down to 4% this morning on idle
But when trying to adjust the base idle, car just revs at 1200rpm and the idle screw makes no adjustment.
Just wondering if i have a air leak somewhere, or if the ecu just hasnt learn is new settings yet.
Havent driven it yet with the new set up, maybe best to drive it a few miles then re-set everything.
cant think of anything else that would help.

hiya all,
Well here is the answer to my problem
Was running at about 8% co this morning, with large clouds of black smoke.
So must have been a sensor problem.
On re-checking the air flow meter output (blue/green wire), i found i only had 0.1v not the 0.3-0.7 i was expecting.
A quick disassemble of the air flow meter and blowing in to the small hole where the hotwire is, confirmed that the air flow meter was not passing the air flowing through it to the ecu.
Well knowing it was duff anyway...i removed the black sealed in top, then a aluminium plate under that.
Looking at the circuit board underneath, i found a black wet/sticky substance covering a few resistors.
I cleaned the stuff off with some meths and a soft brush, then re-assembled everything.
A quick check blowing through the hotwire hole confirmed 0.5v+.
So back on the car, and started her up......yep after warm up i now have 1-1.25% co....which i am more than happy with.
Dash to put back this week, then i am looking forward to having a test drive.
I am looking at getting a mark adams chip for my setup, but this looks like next year now.
anyway just glad is all finally working.
