jerky, juddering engine problem.

I have an intermitant running problem, at first start up it seems to run ok'ish but you have to look after it a bit with the throttle (not a big problem) as soon as it warms up then it is usually fine however, sometimes it will judder and jerk when on light throttle (if you put yer foot down it seems to go away and then return when you are on light throttle again) some days it will play up for around 30 secs or so. I am thinking it is a fueling issue as after it stops it doesnt happen again usually for the rest of the journey. I do not have a fuel filter before the bosch fuel pump but i do have one after it but this has not been changed since i have owned the car. Could it be a blockage somewhere even with a filter? I am thinking of fitting a filter before the pump and after it too but unsure what type i would need before the pump i have a 12mm inlet to the pump and an 8mm outlet. the filter after the pump looks like a typical efi filter big and round with 2 X 8mm fittings. i have seen a filter with 12mm inlet and outlet but it is £52  i was going to replace the coolant temp thermistor for the ecu as well any ideas would be very appreciated as its p*ssing me off a bit now. By the way it is running a hotwire efi system.

You may have a leaky cold start injector and actually overfueling for a while?

No cold start injector on the hotwire system, but it could be the temperature sensor playing up in mid range (signalling resistance cold to the ECU) until it reaches full working temp.

Try swapping it with the one from the fuel rail and see if it makes a difference.

i have ordered a replacement coolant thermistor and replacement green tune resistor anyway but have just found out i have the wrong ecu in the vehicle! it has always had this ecu and has worked ok up until now i have a 3.9 discovery engine 35d03082a and have an ecu off of a 3.5litre 1990/1991 range rover in it. could this be the cause and if so what ecu should i have in it?
