First v8 build

Hi all,
I’ve been lurking, reading a few builds and generally trying to gather knowledge as always.
I’m currently around 70% through a discovery 1 restoration. I’ve near on completed all the welding. I have a bit of floorpan and wheel arch left and probably a rear crossmember.
She was originally a 300tdi, but my hope is to put a big v8 in her. I’ve gone to lots of detail with interior bits etc to try and make it as ‘premium’ as possible. Now seems wrong to put a diesel back in.
I think it will be a RV8 to aid simplicity but I’ve a few queries regarding this due to conflicting info I’ve read.
I’ve built jap engines in the past but never a v8 and haven’t even had a petrol for years due to having pick-ups as my daily.
Cheers for the info you’ve all provided so far to me without even knowing. Loved reading some of the projects, there’s a ford saphy? One I’ve read that is unbelievable and very inspirational!!
