Warming it up at the unit (plugs were a little oiled up but whipped em out and a quick clean sorted it)

I started this with "Not a great deal really" but then I thought actually I have

New seals, rings, plugs, bolts, followers, Piper 285 cam, balanced bottom end, lightened and balanced flywheel, JED baffled and trapdoor'd sump, Lumenition Optronic ignition, heavy duty alternator, Holley 390 CFM 4160 street carb on offenhouser inlet manifold- soon to be replaced by an Edelbrock 500 CFM - , Carter race fuel pump, ported and flowed heads, stainless 4 to 1 manifolds. Watched over by AutoMeter capilliary water temp, oil temp and oil pressure guages.

That's about it I think. The lightening and balancing means that the engine revs pick up very nicely, so much so that I've bought a Micro Dynamics limiter to fit

Oh and some shiney new Edelbrock rocker covers and air filter :D
