Hi All,
I own a 2002 Ford Ranger with a V8 shoehorned in - it actually is quite roomy in the engine bay. I’m looking for some help on dating the engine - MOT looming - and set up on the suspension and cradle holding the motor in

That looks quite “normal” I bet it will get up and go when completed.
What engine did you use?
If you can get it confirmed as earlier than 1975 because it then becomes a “visible smoke” test

Hi Ian, I don’t think I’m going to be that lucky. (I bought the car a year ago, had the body and paint done, then SORNed it so it’s the first MOT I’ve done) The engine number is CR9351-24D13976C so need to pin it down to a year. I think it’s maybe 80s. It has no cat on at present and lovely bespoke pipes which sound nice but Mr MOT may not! I believe I can have it MOTD as to the engine age rather than car year. The other thing I’m looking for tips on is the engine and suspension. I’ve added a picture. It all drives great and firm but looks like there’s something needs completing. All tips welcome!

The list on that forum page would say 1990 Discovery engine.
