Hello all,
Im new to the range rover life having just bought a Range Rover V8 p38. It's a great car. I bought it with a failed Mot. The top of the list is the oil leak above the filter housing. Having located the oil pressure relief valve as the culprit I removed the c clip and metal plug which houses the O ring or dried piece of noodle as it looked when removed. I've damaged the plug, having panicked when the darn thing wouldn't move so resorting to drilling and tapping a thread so I could remove the bleeder!
Can anyone tell me where I can get this plug, if that's what's its called, Rimmer Bros who are normally great can't help.
I'd be very grateful for your wise wisdom.

The problem is that Land Rover don't list it as a separate item!

I have just looked at the parts catalogue for the Defender, the Disco 2 and the P38, and on all of them the timing cover is a complete assembly! There is no breakdown of the various valves, ports and seals in there!

So I guess that's why you can't find the info.

I suppose you could try someone like Turner Engineering who might be able to sell you the parts.

Chris.

Cant you just tread a suitable grub screw into the hole , sealed with your fav goo?.
Next time blow it out with compressed air .
