The Range Rover came with either the Chrysler A727* three speed or the ZF 4HP22 four speed auto. It sounds like you have the flex plate from the ZF box.

The SD1 came with the GM180 gearbox, which was never fitted to the Range Rover.

Basically you need to get the right flex plate etc from the SD1. The crankshafts are the same, so yes it is doable.

The speedo drive is probably electric.

Chris.

Yep the speedo drives are electric but it is possible to swop another model in ...might have been manta? to get it to run a cable, cheepest way round it is to use a push bike speedo and mount that off one of the wheels, they are very accurate, i think chris is right it is a 3 bolt for the 3 speed gm 180 convertor
