I want to paint my inlet manifold that is not yet installed. It has been cleaned and looks nice but not quite as even as I would like. I want to spray aluminium colour so that it looks perfect. I guess I need to get etching primer and engine paint.
Can anyone recommend what to use? I do not want something that is jsut going to burn off, change colour , etc.

I have always just used normal paint on the inlet and its always worked fine. The inlet doesn't get that hot in paint terms. Etch primer is ok but I have never bothered with that either but if you want to then Upol do a good etch primer.

Have you looked at VHT engine paints? They do a "Universal Aluminum" and a "Nu-Cast Aluminum" (
http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/sfID1/ ... oductID/49 ) and have a step-by-step application guide.
