Hi all

New alternator fitted to RV8 in a Stag, do I need a three pin plug for the connectors?

I intend to connect as per image below, does this look right? Or will it end in smoke? (Image borrowed from locostbuilders)

The two big terminals are simply linked together internally - because one of those terminals can't handle the full output of the alternator. So two terminals and two wires are used, both doing the same job. Other makes use a single post with a large ring connector (like a starter motor) and a single heavier wire. But Lucas wanted a plug in type using bits they already had.

Is the one on the Stag loom different?

Stag alternator was removed a few years ago Dave (car has been "resting"), crimped spade terminals on the end of the three cables but no plug. I've ordered the plug as per the ebay link, definitely needs a 90 degree fitting, back of the alternator is close to the rocker box cover.
