I now have a V8 engine to work with

Post by r1_pete »

Just been delivered, a 3.5L SD1, 11A25.... engine number so probably a late 70's Auto.

Its had some weird manual conversion, which retained the flex plate, and had a plain flywheel bolted over the top, and a steel conversion ring, the plain flywheel might be handy if I can mate it to the 944 clutch, as the clutch cover has the ring gear not the flywheel.

Does anyone know what the UK emissions regs are for these engines, they spanned the no test to starting to get quite strict period iirc.

Cheers.

Pete.

That is down to the carbs or injection - rather than the engine.

Late carb SD1 units were specified at 2.5% CO - +/- 0.5%
