high torque starter

Hi All,
are the high torque starters worth upgrading too?

hi andy,
im after a better starter too,
been told the gear reduction ones are the way to go (maybe the same one as your asking about)
BUT i need one that has a solenoid hung underneath (as per sd1 starter) otherwise it fouls my steering column

I use the gear reduction starter from a V8 Sherpa, Brilliant bit of kit,, turns 11.8.cr with lots of advance without a problem.

Hi Ian,
can you post a picture of it if poss.rimmer bros has one but £195,think its a bit pricey.what do you think ian.

thats one one,while trying to the van running after 6 weeks layed up my friend steve said its a bit lazy the starter and said about getting one.

Andy sorry no pics without removing the engine, but I think the sherpa one is the same as the RR one,

I've got 12:1CR and the stock starter is working wonderfuly for me! Interesting... Well, lucky I suppose!

They now offer them in 1.6, 1.9, 2.3 and a whopping 3.3 H.P. models. They are all fully adjustable for header and oil pan clearance.
Includes applications for all RV8 engines and Leyalnd P76v8

just got a denso mini starter for the rover from autopost and is about £90.00
Do you have the Denso part#? Mine has had the # erased.
