I was formerly ppyvabw, but I tried to change my account details ages ago and got locked out of the site some how. Had to rejoin, but no bother. Here now.
Just moved down to Newbury a few months ago and I was wondering if there are any other members around here. I have my old MG with me, and I'm using it as my everyday motor; it's not terribly reliable anymore, and I don't have any tools or a decent place to work on it down here so I'm hoping I may be able to beg some favours if (more likely when) it breaks down. In return for a quantity of beer of course!!
Cheers,
Adam

Thanks for the offer. I may well PM you if ever the need arises - and of course the offer is reciprocated too.
Recently had a problem with the LT77 box in it making a chattering noise on the down change into second. Sounded really rather sinister until I took the console off and noticed the gear lever remote bushes were well worn and the remote was touching the prop shaft; the remote had a good 1/2 inch of play in it. At the moment, it lives on a slope, so I couldn't jack it up safely to have a proper look, so it cost me 180 notes at Beech Hill garage in Mortimer just to change two £5 bushes. They still tried to push a new gearbox on me though.

I do have the occasional tipple my ol mate.
As you is not as posh as wot I is I think you will find the correct grammatical term is
"I did'nt know you drank beer"
,not drunk beer although I have been drunk on beer once or twice
Someone will now point out my spelling mistakes.
