All right R380 2WD is bolted to the engine. That's all for the moment, but

SD1 remote sits further back about ½" so transmission tunnel or the gear-lever has to be modified.

trans member also sits further backwards so a modification will be needed.
Figured a Granada one with the single rubber mount might do the trick with little modifications.

Do I really need the 3 rubber mounts that holds the tranny on my whatever bracket.

Second are all the gears in the same position as my LT77 ??

There's some bracket thing on the side of the SD1 remote unit. It has two springs fitted between the two bolts. It has a plate that slides inside the remote. What does it do, and do I need it.
Its located just below the reverse switch.

This R380 has a hose on top of the gearbox. guess its venting.

Don't know the rest, but R380 reverse is below 5th, not next to 1st as per LT77

That plate thing is to prevent you selecting reverse by mistake, ..when you push the gearlever to the extreme left (LT77) it provides the extra resistance by having the end of the gearlever hit that plate and have to move that plate against those 2 springs.

So I don't need it. Gone now, as my reverse appeared to be on the other side.
That piece was now on the narrower side of the transmission tunnel as the box is longer than the LT77 so without it the box sits a bit higher up.

A resume. A R380 is nearly identical to the LT77 so its nearly same dimensions and nearly a direct swap.

I always thought its a straight swap. Clearly not, but nearly..

Its a tad longer so I had to fab a new transmember. and new mountings to the floor.
This also mean's I had to loose the exhaust crossover pipe ( balance pipe ) as the trans member was now on that place. Thought that welding a new crossover pipe further down the route was pointless and an X pipe was to much trouble ( I am am doing it all on jack stands...)

As its a tad longer it also means the remote shift unit sits a tad further back. Well handbrake in its way...
So a slight remodelling of the shift stick was needed to.
Had to hammer the shifters hole in the tunnel a bit to...
It just clears the handbrake lever now in 4th and reverse. Think its time to remodel the handbrake lever too.

Just filled it up with 2.6 litres of Castrol SMX-S

Only have run it on jack stands now to see & hear everything went well.
Have to finish the interior as well ( console etc ) before I can test run it.

Anything I should know about the R380 for the application I use it ???

One thing to remember mate is the R380 has an oil pump at the lower back of the box so we had to lift mine into the tunnel more than the LT77 to give clearance due to the car being lowered,
