Black Nylon hardline ok for EFI?

Post by Quagmire »

Guys,

After relocating the fuel pump to the rear of my P6 I would like to replace the nylon line running to the front of the car as it is a little too short from where it used to terminate at the reserve tap. Megasquirt is on the horizon too (sometime in new year) so my questions are:

1 - How is it best to join nylon line to carbs etc? Do I need to get hold of some barbed fittings to press into the pipe it or can it go together using some kind of olive and compression fittings? If so can anyone point me at some good ones that dont cost the earth?

2- Is this kind of hose going to be ok for fuel injected pressures later on? My gut feeling is that it should be ok...

And yes I have just realised that question 1 was actually 3 questions

Cheers!

Jamie

What size is the pipe??

I use 4mm and 5mm O/D on my nitrous system with compression fittings that hold over 1000 psi ok ?

Its 8mm OD, need to check ID. Not sure what EFI pump i'll be using but it sure isnt going to be getting up to your N2O pressures, so looks like that side of the equation is ok!

I used to buy my nylon from the nitrous supplier at extortionate cost!!

Then I searched the web and found a supplier who sold it to me at about 10% of the price :)

Have a search. You will find what you need ;)
