hello guys back with more probs with my trike idling . has always ticked over ok but in the last week or two when you start it ticks over too high its 3.5 with auto box i can now do about 20mph in drive without touching throttle and i hav/nt tampered with anything since this started happening apart from checking the dashpots on su,s and topping them up with 20/50 oil .. could it be this ? dont wanna start tampering with carbs as ran ok before .. any advice would be much appreciated thanks in advance paul ...

Generally with carbs if the idle speed it too high, but nothing else, it simply means the throttle mechanism is sticking in some way. I'd first disconnect the throttle cable or linkage and see if that sorts it. A badly routed gearbox cable might also make it stick.

What happens if you push the throttles closed on the carbs?
