Hi all, bought a rather nice 5.5hp / 200l compressor off volospian this weekend, unfortunately it fell ove rin the van on the way back and I broke the pressure regulator thing off the top of the compressor housing. It's a small balck round thing that screws into the side/top ... anyone know where I can get spare parts from? It's a Neilson compressor.
Thanks

It's the small round black thing by the fan shroud, top left. It screws into the top of the cylinder/piston head on the compressor and has a brass attachement that has some copper pipe which goes down and atachs to the air tank. Anyone know what it is and where I can get a new one?

I was thinking its the feed to the tank but that brass pipe looks too small.
From some googling i've done, it looks like the air inlet filter. The pipe is possibly a pipe from a pressure release valve just going into the filter rather than venting to atmosphere.
In other words, probably not that critical or and therfore repairable.

I really hope that you are right mate, that would be ok lol! Going to try and find a replacement.

Take it apart, should be fairly obvious that its a filter.
How broken is it?

I actually never got round to having a proper look, but it does look a bit simple yes! It has broken right on the threaded bit that screws into the compressor head - so the entire threaded bit is stuck in. Luckily it's cast so I should be able to cut a small nick in it and use a screwdriver to tap it out. Depending on it's condition I may be able to use some petal putty etc as it's not a pressure fitting ....?

Have you looked at similar offerings in Machine Mart etc? Lots of these sort of things tend to be badge engineered. And sadly sometimes difficult to get spares for.

volospian just sorted me out with an ebay link for some like-for-like filters, around a fiver! Result! Just have to get the old thread out.
