Gents I have a 3.9efi RRC running an entirely standard non cat hot wire system. Can anyone tell if there is a special procedure for resetting the relationship between the AFM and the ECU after I have run the engine with the AFM disconected.

Hi
I don't think there is one as it is not intended to be run like that, however to get it out of limp home mode. . . which I think it will be in. . . disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute then reconnect the battery, obviously first checking everything that should be attached is attached! :?
Best regards
Mike

since resetting the ECU egine starts virtually instantly whereas before took a few churns to go, also hot restart much better again virtually instant. I can only guess it has been running on limp home mode luckily it only starts on petrol and then switches to LPG. Thanks for the advise.

Funny you should say that, i just logged into mine, been running way too rich, looks like i'm back to happy days again.

How do you know its in limp mode i had no errors or dash lights up.

The only other change I've made is by coming off super plus petrol, cant see that making a huge difference.

Easiest way is fuel consumption - it will drink the stuff!
Or with engine running go around to tail of car if on limp home mode the fumes will make your eyes water! Really they stink!

That is my method but then my Hotwire system is in a "kit car"

Hi,

Cheers for the reply, I know it’s a petrolholic, I did that the exhaust is a little sooty, no cats it’s a tune resistor. The smell wasn’t bad not eye watering, before was about 15mpg now back up at 18-20 mpg.
