Hi All
Mate of mine has a cracked block in his boat, yes I know its not a car but need help.
Anyone know of a specialist cast iron repair company or has anyone heard of the lock and stitch system for repairing blocks.
This is not a wind up Coops, really do need help.
Anyone?

It can be done, but involves a lot of preparation. You will also need to line bore the crank and cam after and rebore to get it all squared up again.
You may get off cheaper buying another block. What make is it?
You could try one of the epoxy sealers, but if it's a single motor vessel, I would steer away from that option, it cracked for a reason, and that needs investigation.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the help with this one.
Will pass on the info to him.
Its a Yanmar marine block and they have thin wall casting to keep the weight down so I too think that a new short motor or a secondhand one is going to be his best option.
Poor bugger had just sold it aswell subject to sea trial and now this has happened.
Thanks again
cheers
