Hi guys, just a quick question on this.... I know what it does by the name, but is it really needed?? It's the only engine I have ever seen with a bypass pipe, so why is it needed??

Just trying to figure out if I need to re install it or not as the hole has been plugged on my offey manifold!

Cheers

Jono, have a butcher's at the PDF available from this link and see if it explains why there is a bypass!

from the foot of page 1 to halfway down page 2.

Or at least, whether we are talking about the same thing?

Aha, yea, that's the one and I can see the reason for it now..... but if I were to take the heater feed from the back of the intake manifold and have the return going to the water pump inlet side, wouldn't this have the same affect as the bipass hose??
Talking of heaters.... where should the interior heaters return to as I can only see the outlet on my engine??

Jono, my heater matrix is fed from the back of the inlet manifold and the return goes to the water pump (on the left of the picture)
I hope this helps in some way.
Cheers,
Tim.
