. . . respraying my car! Well, doing a complete strip down of the interior and engine bay back to bear metal to be more specific! (pics to follow later).

Well, I had no plans for this weekend, everyone was going away, and I needed something to do. It started on thurs night with me making a 'clean' patch on the chassis to see what state it was in . . . quite good by all accounts.

And you know what its like, you make a clean spot, and it just looks out of place, so you have to do the rest lol!

Good thing though - must have removed about 2kg (no poop!) of crud and stuff from the engine bay. All it took was a kitchen knife (yes, the best thing for it!), angle grinder, sand paper, four cans of spray paint and my time. I have to say it looks pretty bloody good for a done-in-a-dusty-garage-with-a-brew-on-the-go-all-the-time job!

Sorry just had to post as I'm made up with the results - well I couldn't have a nice shiney engine in a dirty engine bay lol!

grand opening tonight!

what's the best way of posting pics - via hosting such as Photo Bucket or something else?

I've never done this by the way!

I use Photobucket. Just upload your pics to your shiny new Photobucket account and then click on the box that starts [IMG under the picture. It will copy automatically and then just Ctrl-V (Paste) the link into your post. Works every time for me.

Is everyone on the Forum on holiday this week? Am I the only one surreptitiously logging on from work?

I've got most of the hard graft out of the way now I reckon. Gotta spray the interior, strip/spray the cage + fit, buy/fit all the carbon fibre panels for the interior, and sort the dash out.

As for mechanics, I have to fit the engine, then plumb it all in (including buying a shed load of random silicon hoses), then wire in the EFI. And plumb the mental fuel system in.

Oh yeah, new tyres for the new alloys, and some brakes I suppose!

. . . maybe there is a fair bit to do! (gotta get it road legal as well!)

Err everything then!

I've got to wire in my a/f guage, fill it with fuel, check for leaks and turn the key WOOHOO!! Then next winter i'll be doing it alllllllllllllllllllll again!

My Rovers in pretty much the same state as yours (except for the pansy 2 ltr lump in there at the mo to keep it moving). Got heaps done so far, but still loads to do, just need to paint it, screw the interior back in, and oh yeah, build up my new 3.9 for it aswell 8)

Keep up the good work. :D
