It really does sound like a strange one. Hopefully with the filter off, or relief valve out, he will get oil coming out everywhere.....

Or if anyone was close enough to give a second opinion....

Hi,what has actually been done to this engine in the terms of repair,bearings ect? If the oil filter is full of vasaline then there is a bypass to avoid the filter element. I too have seam BL 'A' series engine spin gears on shafts.Remove the oil pressure switch and turn pump over and you should get full oil pressure out of pump,if the case you know pump ok and problem futher along lubrication circuit.

VICTORY IS MINE!!!!!!!

found the culprit, VASELINE!. changed the pump gears twice, oil filter housing twice, pressure relief valve twice, and nothing then my mate told me to take the oil light switch out and blow it through with an air line which i did, then i turned the pump with the drill and got lods of pressure but no oil coming up top, so i loosened the rocker shafts off and turned the pump again and it all came flooding out white at first so much it started to pour over the sides of the heads. my oil is now cream colured from all the vaseline.
anyway a big thankyou for all the help and advice chaps its much appreciated.

Steve, I know that but how many of us actually check that the pump gear does not spin in its shaft - after all it is only a press fit.
