From another tvr owner fitting an ls2.
"The LS2 (6000cc) is 100mm lower than the RV8, giving ample place for a
compressor on its top...

Normal crate is with Corwette alusump, a
perfect fit in the frame.
The width is the same as you see from the photo, the block itself is
longer, but the coolantpump and balancerwheel is a much shorter build
leaving the removable crossmember untouched. The Engine/gearbox (TKO600)
is shorter than the old one, I had to order a new driveshaft 80mm longer
than the old one! 1330 racing crosses and 3" tube - bulletproof!
An LS7 (7000cc)will be even better, (adding $10k to the total budget),
but I would not stand a chance having it accepted by the authorities
her. Also you will not find place for the rather big oiltank following
the drysump system. In the trunk perhaps..
A 3" exhaust system will also be a problematic fit, remember the
original and sports-exhaust for our 500's are 2" in the silencer area

But working the solutions around this would be fab!
The LS2 can be cammed another 100 hp - without even touching the GM
engine controller!! Documentet by Hot Rod mag
And now you have the LS3 entering the market, identical to the LS2 but
6200cc and 435ps.
I would stay clear of the older packs as the LS1/6 (5700cc) to have the
advantages of the newest tech.
Theres no place for the A/C under the hood whatever type you choose.
Eventually a smaller alternator - I don't know. We are just above
freezing her, new fallen snow yesterday, so I don't care

"
I thought he used a t56 but its actually a TKO but so far its a bolt in job with no chassis mods, the only really time consuming thing being the exhausts.
