Well I removed the old fan ready to fit the new one and gave the rad a good look over. It was pretty bunged up and quite an alarming amount of mud came out when I rinsed it through with a pressure washer.
It ran a lot cooler after this alone, With the new fan the temp stays well in the lower section of the gauge. Looks like its all sorted now.. ran about for an hour up and down some nice big hills and all is well.
