Tony,

Just a thought as no one has mentioned it, and I was looking at the e-bay ad.

The later front cover is designed to work with the later engines with the long nosed cranks and yours I believe is a 3.9.

I think I did read somewhere that you can machine the crank for the larger/longer key that will then drive the oil pump, you may have this sorted already but just in case you hadn't thought of it.

Nice deal on all the parts by the way.

Kevin.

Right,
ignore the above part number for the alternator bracket,
as its a 4.6 serp one not 3.9,
so im either going to have to make a 50mm approx spacer to move the alternator into its correct position,
or try and hunt down the correct bracket from a discovery / tvr gutted

Do you have to worry about the condition of oil pumps in newer type front covers when buying?  There are a couple on ebay (& obviously I am looking for one) and need one to fit on serp engine and want to use dizzy too- can I get a 4.0 cam with dizzy drive?

edited the post mate,

For any other member:
is it true that the gems alternator bracket sits the alternator higher than the interim 3.9 serp bracket?
