Yes I put the drill bit in a tap holder, taped up the block so no holes was open.

put the head back on, use some tap on the drill but so not to cut the head.

and use the head as a guide to make sure the drill went in straight.

Remember your not drilling a hole as such all your doing is removing the old thread, so you have a clean hole to re-tap to the next size up.

it's will only take 2 or 3 miniets per hole.

the main problem after is making sure you tap straight, we used a level to make the block level, then put a level on top of the tap.
