Please think twice before buying the Ebay clutch.

Along with slipping like Mr Bean on a banana skin, mine broke one of the springs in the friction plate after only 6000 miles.

Unfortunately the age old maxim of "buy cheap, buy twice" comes to mind :(

I don't want to say any more at the moment because I'm trying to claim on the warranty.

I think I Really need someone to club me over the head everytime I think about buying something that looks good but is cheap- it seems to be taking far too long for "you get what you pay for" to sink in.
You are probably completely right mr dnb and I should know it- I made those mistakes a couple of times when I built my mini last year!!!

You aren't the only one who needs clubbing over the head with the cheap but looks good parts.

I fell for it too - the clutch was the last thing to replace on the TVR. I'd already spent a fortune on a complete rebuild from the chassis up, and I didn't really want to spend much more on the project...

A year on and the car's back in pieces and I have to spend more on another clutch and on sorting out the damage the first one did.

The v8 Developments Helix clutch I have now looks like it is simply in a different league to the other one, and should handle all of my future mods.

You should know by now I'm a stingy so-and-so and it's hard to part me from my money when not absolutely necessary... ;)

I even bought it on my Barclaycard so I could get the 4% cashback too.
