Im guessing the MK IV gearbox is still the same W-series for n/a 5speed cars as the older Mk 3

Was never the box price that got me it was the conversion price in the UK that was stupid for the toyota box. When I priced it a few years ago the conversion was more than a new WC T5 at something like £1300. No surprise in that company doesn't seem to be around anymore which leaves dealing direct with the company in NZ. No idea what their prices are like. Even now you can buy a new tr3550 for £1200 and thats a 400 lb/ft box or £1100 for a new WC T5.

The NZ kit is expensive, as its what i used.

But arent the Dellow conversions a lot cheaper ???

Stevie you are bound to have seen the McLeod steel bell housings close up, what thickness of steel is in the main body of them? Just toying with an idea.

Ive seen some steel bellhousings, but never actually had one in hand.

Given SFI regs and why steel is used, I reckon they are about 1/4" thick steel.
Dont forget though, that the steel bodys arent always such a transmission tunnel friendly shape.

It should be a doddle to get a Supra flange cut from steel, and welded onto a steel bellhousing though.
The only slightly tricky part would be the clutch operation, but even that shouldnt be too hard.

How much are the Dellow conversions though ??

I did ages ago when I was switching to the LS1, as I was considering retaining the Supra box.

I dont recall figures, but their BH's were a lot cheaper than the NZ place.

I looked into this when I started my V8 XR4x4 project and the Rover flywheel is bigger than the MT75 bellhousing :( add to this the fact that the rover starter is mounted on the block and it starts to turn into a PITA
